Tom McCutcheon
Reining Investment Opportunities

In today's market, a top notch reining horse prospect can cost an incredible amount of money. By going in a partnership on a horse, several people can pool their resources and end up with a quality prospect with less financial risk.

In last several years, Tom has been instrumental in putting together many successful partnerships.

"It is lot of fun for everyone involved, and a good way to get a tax break. It is really an affordable way in this day and age to get an outstanding futurity horse. If five or six people get together and pool their money, that can get them a pretty darn nice horse that will be competitive at the futurity and through the aged events" he explains.

Tom is adamant about carefully picking a prospect that is a sound investment for all involved. "I try to make sure a deal is as surefire as it can get before I syndicate it or form a partnership. It is important to look at all the options and be familiar with the industry so in case things don't work out, there is a back up plan. If it doesn't work, that just makes it that much harder for me to get people out of the situation. So I definitely have a vested interest in the success of the endeavor."

Often Tom will be approached by people that are interesting in being part of a partnership, but don't have the connections to make it happen.

Since Tom has been successfully involved in the reining horse industry for quite some time both on a national and international level, he is well equipped to find a qualified prospect as well as other partners with similar interests. Once a partnership is formed Tom oversees all aspects of the horse's training and promotion.

"The biggest benefit that people get working with us is that they are hooking up with someone who is going to look after their investment. We don't just sell them something and say good luck," he explains.

"Generally most syndicate and partnerships are done on horses that are in the barn already. I don't syndicate anything that I don't know really well and know its ability. I will have had the horse in the barn for a while and therefore know how good of a horse they are or how good of a horse they will be."

If you are interested in being part of a partnership, Tom would be happy to discuss your interests and options in forming a successful endeavor that is both profitable and enjoyable.
